Environmental Talks: The Human in the Universe – Niamh Brennan
July 6 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The human in the Universe.
Thomas Berry has written that in order to meet the needs of our times ‘we need a spirituality that emerges out of a reality deeper than ourselves, a spirituality that is as deep as the Earth process itself, a spirituality that is born out of the solar system and even out of the heavens beyond the solar system’.
In this talk we will look at how knowledge of our universe can change the way we view and participate in the on-going adventure of life and can assist in developing a more intimate and sacred relationship with Earth and those we share Earth with.
How long will it take us to enter emotionally and spiritually into this new understanding even when we are facing a climate crisis? Perhaps Niamh’s workshop will move us in the right direction.
Niamh Brennan (MA International Development, MA Culture and Spirituality) is a writer and workshop facilitator in Cosmology and Spirituality. She is the author of ‘The human in the Universe’ (Wyndham Hall Press, 2014) and co-author of ‘The Universe Story in Science and Myth’ (Greenspirit 2013). She is currently studying for her Phd in Trinity College Dublin.
Niamh will open our eyes to a new and enriching understanding of the Universe and the role of the human in it. It’s all about shifting our understanding and changing our perspective in a way that is non-threatening but contains the invitation to respond in an active and meaningful manner.
