Kum Nye Yoga
April 30 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, repeating indefinitely
This is a 5 week Kum Nye course facilitated by Fran Burns
What is Kum Nye? ‘Kum Nye Tibetan Relaxation is a gentle healing system that relieves stress, transforms negative patterns, and helps us to be more balanced and healthy. Kum Nye opens our senses and our hearts so we feel satisfied and fulfilled and can appreciate more fully every aspect of our lives.’ (T.Tulku Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga, 2006)
The unique value of the Kum Nye system of relaxation is that it integrates both the physical and the psychological, healing both body and mind, bringing their energies together to function calmly and smoothly. When we learn to open our senses and touch feelings directly, our bodies and minds connect and experience becomes rich & healthy. As we become deeply acquainted with ourselves, our self-understanding improves, we are able to share more fully with others.
Who can do Kum Nye? Kum Nye is suitable for anyone, regardless of your age or ability, who wants to reduce stress and increase a sense of well-being through working with the body and awareness. Kum Nye is easily incorporated into everyday experience this can enrich your life going forward.
Fran Burns has engaged with body mind integration for most of her working life. Trained and worked as a physiotherapist, retiring recently. Alongside this Fran investigated the mind/body emotional connection through a masters in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy along with other movement and psychotherapeutic studies. In the past 10 years Fran continues to study and explore now through the deep structure of Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga, undertaking teacher training in Kum Nye with Arnaud Maitland the primary teacher of this form.
