“Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiological functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.”
– Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, author of “The Healing Power of Sound: Recovery from life-threatening illness using sound, voice and music.
The stresses and strains of our daily lives take their toll on our body, mind and spirit. Our digestive systems must put up with highly processed foods eaten at odd hours. Chronic low level stress, which often goes unnoticed has a hugely detrimental effect on all aspects of our health. Many people no longer accept the idea that for every ailment there is a pill or even a need for a pill and are choosing different, more natural forms of health management.
The restorative effects of sound have been documented extensively in the writings of such authors as Dr Alfred Tomatis, Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, Jonathan Goldman and Don Campbell.
Our approach to well-being is holistic, treating the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual, recognising that often the initial presenting problem may in reality have its origin elsewhere.
“Sound therapy is one of the prototypical vibrational healing modalities. Sound produces measurable vibratory feelings throughout the body, depending upon the frequency and amplitude of the sound used. There have been a wide variety of sound healing developments over the last ten to twenty years. Certain sounds most likely have a healing influence upon the body because they influence the geometric patterns and organization of cells and living systems. ”
– Dr. Richard Gerber, author of “Vibrational Medicine”
Facilitated by Harry Parkinson who is a registered sound therapy practitioner with the Colour of Sound Institute, which is accredited by the British Complimentary Medicine Association.
Harry holds a diploma in counselling, psychology and therapy from the Accept Counselling Association of Ireland.
