Discover your inner world of calm through an outward act of craft. No previous experience is needed just an ability to hold a pen. Over a 6 week period Siobhan will guide you through principles and simple alphabet s using Foundation and the Uncial style, the iconic Irish script that we are so familiar with. Each session begins with discussions and demonstrations followed by a quiet period with music to practice. Each participant is encouraged to create their own piece either a word or phrase that resonates with them.

Siobhan Campbell will help you learn about some of our favourite colours and how they evolved through our culture. Every colour tells a story, the power of red in a sunset, or the red carpet?Why were cows fed mango leaves to produce Indian yellow pigment? Come and join our colour club and explore how colour affects our lives. This short course explores the story and origin of pigments in paintings and society that give social meaning to the kaleidoscope of colour around us. No materials are required just a curiosity in colour and culture.

Leonardo da Vinci- A Renaissance Man for the 21st Century

This year marks the 500th anniversary of his death May 2nd 1519. His accomplishments read like an A to Z of humanity’s intelligence. He was an Anatomist, Geologist, Engineer Scientist Painter and Vegetarian. He was the 1st Environmentalist who understood the Unity of the earth’s Biosystems. His approach to life transcends centuries. What is his relevance to life today? What was the importance of being a “disciple di experensa” (disciple of experience.. as he signed his notebooks)?This talk gives us a glimpse of his approach while being entertained through images and explorations of his notebooks over his 67 years.
Siobhan is a freelance art educator delivering talks and courses over fifteen years. She presently is delivering a course entitled ‘The Power of Colour’ a research into the power of pigments in the making of paintings from the ancient cave paintings to the dyed denim of our modern day jeans.
